Distribution of Neuropeptides in Ascaris lumbricoides Using Immunohistochemistry

Abstract
Immunohistochemical staining was done according to the type of the primary antibody, namely substance P and cholecystokinin in sectioned Ascaris lumbricoides.
@ES The results obtained were as follows :
@EN 1. The presence of the immunoreactivities of the substance P and cholecystokinin was confirmed.
2. To substance P as the primary antibody, muscular portion was reactive positively at the dilution of 1 : 4,000 of the primary antibody.
3. To cholecystokinin as the primary antibody, intestinal epithelium was stained reactive positively. The other site of the worm was not reactive.
4. In the control group, there were no structures stained as compared with the experimental groups using substance P and somatostatin as the primary antibody.
As a results, peptidergic components were present in Ascaris lumbricoides and substance P was considered as a muscular activator and cholecystokinin was connected with the fact that intestinal absorption. Further studies sing various purification
methods were recommanded to identify the neuropeptide and immunohistochemical staining at the various dilution of the primary antibody.
